The microphone needs a secure connection. Please reopen the link from your original email.
On Windows
- Click the small icon just to the LEFT of the web address at the top of the window.
- Set Microphone to Allow, then reload the page.
- If it already says Allow, the block is in Windows itself: open Start, then Settings.
- Go to Privacy & security, then Microphone.
- Turn on Microphone access, and turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.
- Return to Google Chrome and start again.
On Mac
- Click the small icon just to the LEFT of the web address at the top of the window.
- Set Microphone to Allow, then reload the page.
- If it already says Allow, the block is in macOS itself: click the apple icon at the top-left corner of your screen and choose System Settings (System Preferences on an older Mac).
- Click Privacy & Security, then Microphone, and turn on Google Chrome.
- Quit Google Chrome completely and reopen it, then start again.
On iPhone or iPad, Safari
- Reload the page and tap Allow when Safari asks -- it usually asks again after a reload.
- If it does not ask: tap the small icon just to the LEFT of the web address (on most iPhones the address bar sits at the bottom of the screen).
- Tap Website Settings.
- Set Microphone to Allow, then tap Done and reload the page.
On iPhone or iPad, Chrome
- Open the Settings app on your device.
- Scroll down and tap Chrome.
- Turn Microphone on.
- Return to the exam and start again.
On Android
- Tap the small icon just to the LEFT of the web address at the top of the screen.
- Tap Permissions, then set Microphone to Allow.
- Reload the page and start again.
- If it already says Allow, Chrome itself has no microphone permission: open the Settings app on your phone.
- Tap Apps, then Chrome, then Permissions.
- Tap Microphone and choose Allow, then start again.
